HOPE Thankful Cards

I am thankful for: Life
Being able to do things that I could not do before. Simple things like picking up a piece of paper off the floor without being out of breath. Walking a short distant. Everything was so hard. Through the grace of God I am getting a new chance at life. I can do things that I haven't been able to do in about 3 years. Most of all I can help others now. What a great feeling. Praise God, he is so good.

I am thankful for: My Donor Family
The donor family has blessed me with a second life. It allowed me to care for my wife as she finished a 14 1/2 month battle with cancer. It has also allowed me to continue ministry and share the love of God with many. It has been a special treat to share with children. My latest and most joyful blessing has been to reconnect with a friend and we got married September 28. I am happy and blessed.

I am thankful for: My Christmas gift for 2011 (May 21, 2011)
After being on the lung transplant list for 6 months, I received my call for a lung that had been offered. Nine hours after the call, Dr. Elkins had completed a right lung transplant. What a blessing and gift I received from a donor and their family, whom I may never know, but who gave me a gift of life. My thanks goes to my family, friends, doctors, nurses and rehab staff at Integris. All played a vital part in my transplant journey.

I owe my life to Dr. Zuhdi and his wonderful transplant team for saving my life in December of 1992. I am enjoying my family and still work in the OR as a nurse. Thank you Dr. Zuhdi for helping me and saving my life.

I am thankful for: The new extension of life
I'm so grateful that God sent an angel to me to give me another chance at life. I'm also thankful for the donor family. My prayers are with them. I feel God has a use for me and he is not done with me. That's why I'm here and doing well. Thank everyone that has helped me get here. There are not enough words to express my thankfulness.

I am thankful for: The Donor
I promise to take good care of the liver that was given to me. I know God has a plan for my life just like he has a plan for everyone. Not knowing my Donor, I pray that they receive the highest gift that God has to offer in Heaven. To God be the glory.

I am thankful for: My wonderful doctors
Life itself is a blessing and God has blessed me with additional years. He has given me time with my wife, children, grand children and my little great grand-daughter. Life is so short. I'm now enjoying my friends and family which means the world to me. With God and my family by my side I look at life as a glass half full. Pray daily. Liver transplant 1996.

I am thankful for: All the blessings in my life
I'm thankful that I get to spend time with my donor family. Meeting others that have experienced the process or are waiting for a transplant. Life without pain and sickness is great. Being able to travel the world and take part in the World and US Transplant games. Showing others that transplantation really works. Winning medals is just a bonus and not the real meaning of the games. I'm truly thankful for God blessing me and all the organ donors.

I am thankful for: The Donor family
I'm thankful for the son of the donor family that gave his heart. I was born with a heart problem so I grew up with a bad heart. I didn't know what it felt like to have a normal heart beat. My heart would beat so hard that I could hear it all the time. I lived with my bad heart for 23 years. It had no lower right chamber, no right valve and no right artery to send blood to my lungs. I only waited 3 months for my heart, so I am one of the lucky ones. January 20 it will be 10 years since I received the gift of life.
