The show is about the Skaggs family of Slaughterville, OK.  Their young son received a heart transplant as an infant.

 HOPE  is dedicated to honoring the hope in the donor families' gift that the gift goes to someone in need.  We honor the hope in the candidates who wait, hoping the gift will come in time.  We honor the hope in the recipients' gratitude that they will be able to give back to the community that has so generously given.
